1. Acceptance
Welcome to DropShot. DropShot is a local-first macOS menu bar app for organizing screenshots. These Terms apply when you download, install, access, or use DropShot and its related pages, documentation, and support services.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please stop installing or using DropShot.
2. License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use DropShot on macOS devices that you own or control.
Unless permitted by applicable law or separately authorized by us in writing, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, bypass technical protections, remove rights notices, or use DropShot to infringe the rights of others.
3. Your Content and Local Data
You retain your rights in screenshots, images, folder contents, and other materials that you import or manage. DropShot does not claim ownership of your screenshots or local files.
Based on your settings, DropShot may perform OCR, renaming, organization, indexing, deduplication, thumbnail caching, and quick preview locally. Before using automatic renaming or organization, you should confirm that your destination folders, naming rules, and backup approach fit your workflow.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use DropShot only in a lawful, proper, and necessary manner. You may not use DropShot to:
- Process, distribute, or store content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, trade secrets, or other lawful rights;
- Circumvent security mechanisms of an operating system, app store, or third-party service;
- Interfere with the normal operation of DropShot, macOS, or other software;
- Violate applicable laws, platform rules, or these Terms.
5. Intellectual Property
The intellectual property rights in DropShot software, interface design, icons, pages, documentation, trademarks, names, and related materials belong to their respective owners. Without authorization, you may not copy, distribute, rent, sell, sublicense, adapt, or use them commercially in a way that causes confusion about source or ownership.
6. Updates and Changes
We may release new versions, fix issues, adjust features, or update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the website, app page, or other reasonable methods. If you continue using DropShot after an update, you accept the updated Terms.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
DropShot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep the app stable, but we do not guarantee that OCR recognition, source app detection, automatic naming, search results, or file organization will be completely accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every specific need.
Screenshot contents, file-system state, third-party screenshot tools, macOS permissions, disk space, user settings, and other factors may affect results. You are responsible for keeping any necessary backups. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages.
8. Termination
You may stop using and uninstall DropShot at any time. If you violate these Terms, we may stop providing future updates or support services to the extent permitted by applicable law. Termination does not affect rights and obligations that arose before termination.
9. Governing Law and Disputes
The formation, effectiveness, performance, and interpretation of these Terms are subject to mandatory laws applicable to your use of DropShot in your location. If a dispute occurs, both parties should first try to resolve it through friendly communication; if that fails, the dispute will be handled in a manner permitted by applicable law.
